 Emergency Services

The United Counties of Leeds & Grenville in partnership with its Municipalities, Townships and the Separated Municipalities, work in co-operation to provide the required Emergency Services needed by the residents of the region. Depending on the Emergency Service, it maybe funded, operated and managed by the Joint Services Committee at the county or by the local municipal government of that particular region (e.g. each Fire Department is funded, operated and managed by the local Municipality/Township).

With respect to Emergency Planning, all tiers of government are required to fund, manage and operate an Emergency Plan according to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Each Emergency Plan will be initiated based on the severity and exposure of the situation.

In Case of Emergency  "ICE"

You can assist emergency services enormously by taking part in the ICE program. "ICE" stands for "in case of emergency." The program involves adding an entry to the contact list of your cell phone under the label "ICE", with the names and phone numbers of those who should be reached in an emergency. If you want to input more than one contact name, simply enter ICE1, ICE2, or add a name to the entry, such as "ICE - Dad" or "ICE - Sarah."

Help us to help you by adding "ICE" to your cell phone.

Leeds Grenville EMS has created an information card that you can download and print, in which you can fill out the fields and keep with you at all times in case of an emergency. ICE form
