May 30, 2007 - New Community and Social Services Structure At a special meeting of Counties Council held on May 30, 2007, a series of recommendations relating to the Community and Social Services Division were approved. Central to these recommendations is the creation of a new divisional organizational structure. The recommendations follow from a comprehensive seven-month review conducted by senior staff in the division initiated as part of the Service Delivery Review process. The review concluded that a new structure would support program and administrative integration as result in a number of program improvements, cost savings and other efficiencies. This will be achieved through the consolidation of departments and functions, realignment of resources and through capacity building in certain areas. This is a substantial change for the division and, consequently will be phased in over the next year and a half. Find out more...
