Economic Development Mission The United Counties of Leeds & Grenville will be the engine of growth for three economic corridors of strength through a collaborative regional approach that focuses on growing its business presence in specific targeted clusters, while maintaining economic diversification. We will focus on "green" inspired development, iconic tourism experiences, knowledge based manufacturing and new agri-bio opportunities that result in economic benefits for the Counties and its citizens.
Introduction The Economic Development Vision and Mission Statements were developed through a series of consultations with Leeds and Grenville residents, government, the business community and local business organizations. It was a first step in the creation of an economic development strategy for the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.
Economic development at the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is a unique partnership between the Counties and the Separated Municipalities: i.e., the City of Brockville and the Towns of Prescott and Gananoque. This regional economic initiative is headed by the Chief Administrative Office and managed by the Economic Development Co-ordinator, working closely with the Counties Economic Development Sub-Committee.
This important regional initiative reaffirms the Counties continuing commitment to its residents and business community, while recognizing the need for economic development organizations in the region to co-ordinate their efforts regarding business attraction and business retention and expansion. |
